Job description

As an Android Developer you work on the Wehkamp e-commerce platform that millions of customers use 24 hours a day. You translate the ideas of the organization into an innovative Android app and you ensure that the app remains technically at the forefront. With the latest techniques you implement features according to the design principles that we use within the team. If you think something could be improved, don't hesitate to discuss it with your team members. You work with your team to improve the experience of our customers.

Qualifications

What is important:
You have experience as a software developer and also at least 3 years of work experience in developing native Android apps. You are eager to learn, analytical, pragmatic, a team player, have a DevOps mentality and are positive and proactive. Of course you don't shy away from a challenge. In addition, you do not easily see bears on the road. Obviously you are not afraid to make a release.

You can work from the office as easily as from home using Google Meet or Slack. Of course you have experience with Java, Kotlin, Gradle, AndroidX, Reactive Programming and Firebase. Your code is not complete without Unit Tests and you are familiar with the implementation of JSON (REST) APIs. Knowledge of API development and iOS development is a plus. The market is changing fast and that's why we're looking for you to help us stay ahead.

What happens after your application?
The process for this vacancy is as following: 

  1. Do your expectations and our wishes match? Then we will invite you to a (video) call with the recruiter.
  2. First interview with the hiring manager and tech lead, this will focus on the cultural and technical fit. 
  3. If that is positive we’ll move on to a case or technical assessment, based on this you’ll have the second interview. 

We strive to give feedback as soon as possible and try to wrap the whole recruitment process within two weeks.
